    Hardy on Matchtalk

In the studio but he's late - in an important meeting.

FL to vote on obligatory Matchday programme, Hardy says Notts would sell a 12 page locally produced programme if vote is for option not to bother.

Expectation for next year - If go up, consolidate in L1 then press for Championship year after. If don't go up, got to go "straight" up next year from L2.

Not disappointed with play-offs, Wants Mansfield in the final.

Retain list, started conversations, another meeting Thursday (Darren Fletcher involved in this).

Talking about having players who are loyal to the club, "Key for us is the new training ground.... [we have] some great players under 18"

Academy plans now with councillors, ambition for category 2, 3G pitch, indoor dome, gym, lots of other pitches on a big area.

Not allowed to do ticket offers in play-offs without agreement of opposition and most of gate income is pooled to all clubs.
Would prefer to lose at Wembley than in the semis.

Summer signings, Yates & Grant? - Doesn't think we'll get Yates back, would be great to have Grant.

Plans for L1 and L2 next season are very different. A big away following selling out the Sirrel (Stags, Lincoln, Cov, Luton) brings in an extra £100k each game. Typically make £50K on away tickets, those clubs bring in £150k.

    Good summary.

All sounds fairly sensible, except for the automatic extension given to Jon Stead, which was obviously a mistake we made in drawing up the terms of his contract last summer. He's 35 now and has looked a diminished player this year with a dwindling goal return, albeit you can never fault him for effort.

Thanks for typing that up, utm.

The plans for training facilities sound ambitious. Will defo be a feather in Notts' cap if it comes off.

Most chairman tend to leave some lasting legacy and maybe a training centre/academy from Alan Hardy will be his mark, much like our current Meadow Lane Stadium was for the late Derek Pavis.

Yes, was thinking about the DP stand. JAH's due diligence is a monument to something Remarkable how the Trew dynasty turned to dust. Not even "two trunkless legs of stone" in the sand to mark their tenure. Hopefully the Hardy Training Centre will be celebrated for years to come.

Check statistics before you talk *******s. Dwindling goal return? Last 4 seasons have been his most productive since his first club Huddersfield. Stead has scored 13, 14, 14 and is on 13 this season. These are his last 4 seasons. This is the most consistent of his whole career.

Stead is not the problem in this squad.

40 league games and 9 goals is not good enough in Division 4.

Like another poster, you have totally overlooked the context of the Division we are in. Even Gary Jones scored at this level, but he couldn't buy a goal in the third tier. Stead scored 6 Premier League goals in 13 games for Blackburn in 2003/4, which is clearly better than now against the likes of Man United and Liverpool. At Championship level, he got 12 for Ipswich in 2008/9.

You are overlooking the establishment of the Ozzie Mandias travel centre.
