Likely Team for first match of the new season

If something doesn't happen soon this could be the likely team for the first match in non-league !

Anyone else fancy a stab at it - we can have bets on who is the closest on the day (just to keep us occupied till we hear positive news)

It's not the worst team in the world, a better left winger and a decent partner for Bird (I've never seen Dunn play though) and I'd probably take it. Hemmings and Dennis should be scoring for fun if they can both get decent pre-seasons together and stay fit and moan about him all you like but Enzio should be tearing this league a new arsehole.

I really don't want to see Fitz in non league, he might even find it harder than League 2 once teams realise he's a lightweight he'll just get bullied and we'll concede from crosses again all season.

    GK

    Tootle Bird CB Kellett
    --------- Doyle
    ------ Rose Crawford
    Enzio ---------------- LW
    ------- Hemmings

Wouldn't mind an actual left back either, Kellett seems to be made of glass although if we go waaaaay back he was the only player to come out of Nolan's last game in charge with any credit when he played full back but even if he is our solution, we won't be able to rely on him for very long

I wouldn't mind betting that at least two of the more senior names remaining in the OP line up will have left by the start of the season. There are noises from the Enzio and Dennis camps that they want away.

I agree, it could be a lot worse. Just need to get things sorted but it least it shows we could still put out a decent side for the white Vanman league

That may be so but I thought it might be a bit of fun to choose a team for the first match from the squad as it stands

Indeed, in which case your guess looks decent. I think Ardley prefers a 4-4-2 if he's got the personnel to play it.

Its time to give a few kids a game kennedy-Williams & Osbourne deserve a chance.

Enzio won't be here next season and one of Hemmings/Dennis will go too.

Maybe so but lets just go with what we currently have and change the team as we get new players (if)

Looks OK 'on paper', but I reckon that team would get slaughtered most games. A keeper who can't claim crosses, two centre backs with virtually no experience, and zero height or strength up front. The midfield is OK, but I doubt Enzio and Doyle will be here come August.
