Nearly 30 million and all we have is loans.

    Jansson 5m
Roofe 6.4m (minused the 600k sell on clause)
Clarke 8m (which will increase to 11m)
    Peacock-Farrell 3.5m
    Saiz 2.2m
    Ekuban 1m
    Ideguchi 750k
    Denton (Unknown)
    Halme (Unkonwn)
    Sacko 500k
    Dalby, O'Connor + others released
Pearce, De Bock rumoured to be leaving soon.
    Coyle, Grot,

Total transfer incomings currently: 26m+ (as well as on top of that the reduced wage bill)

    Incomings
Ben White- Loan (assuming a fee involved around 1-2m)
Jack Harrison- Loan (again assuming a fee)
Helder Costa- Loan but buying next season
Clarke- Loan with no fee involved.
    McCarron- 400k

So our total 'spend' is 4m roughly and I believe that is being generous with the loan fees.

Add to this that if we weren't to go up this season and we add as is expected 2 more loans we will lose all of them except Costa leaving us with a massively depleted squad. Further to this you can only have 5 in any match day squad and we've already got 4

It isn't adding up to me, I don't mind Roofe leaving in all honesty I think hes good and hard working but I think he is quite easily replaceable. What bothers me is that we have left it till now and will replace him with another loan, most likely a kid who has never played this league before and will take time to get used to senior football, Bielsa tactic and his team mates in a CRUCIAL position for us.

Worst comes to worst we will be left with one injury prone striker and no back up.

It frustrates me because there is such a glorious chance to go up here with a tactical genius and yet we have never sold this many players and recouped this much in fees since we were selling likes of Rio Ferdinand. I saw how we played vs Bristol and I just despair at the fact that we don't just add quality, instead we are rolling the dice with this bargain bucket method and hoping it pays off rather than sensible investment that would make a massive difference.

Hope there is some master plan because if all their plan is, is to sign Nketiah from Arsenal and thats it I'd have serious questions about their motives going forward because I currently feel like its a lets do this with a profit, sell all the players, loan in some fancy looking ones and then if it doesnt go right we will leave with the profits and leave the new owners with a threadbare squad, without Bielsa and with the likes of Phillips, Casilla etc all wanting out.

    Forgot Maliik Wilks as well!

Shame with him as I liked him and one of the rare strikers we've had come through that I've thought could do well. Looked good for Barnsley in their first game as well but if Bielsa didn't fancy him then he knows better as far as I'm concerned!

The Scottish Sun have reported that we have opened talks with Ryan Kent. I don't think we need another winger. Goalkeeper and CB would be my preferences.

Striker is my preference, if Bamford gets injured we are left with playing someone like Harrison upfront which doesnt fill me with any confidence or if Bamford is having a bad game/out of form who do we turn to? People will say Edmondson is an option but hes completely unproven at senior level and with best will in world could be crap and it feels like we are staking our season on Bamford and him being fit and in form for 46 games!

I agree we need a striker. Plus a keeper and CB.

In terms of strength in depth, given last year's injury list, it would be foolish to think we can get through the season without back up.

One thing i noticed about Saturday's game at Bristol is that Shackleton wasn't even on the bench - anyone know why? Hopefully not a sign of another imminent departure!!

No idea what the club are playing at during this transfer window at all. Part of me is hoping ( as posted elsewhere) that a takeover is rumbling on in the background and this is the reason Radz is not spending. Another thought is that this is a deliberate tactic by the club to cry poverty and to wait until the end of the window, hoping that transfer fees for certain targets will be reduced.

Strange that the quality of transfers that we are now being linked with (imo) has increased i.e. Gayle/Kent?
