    Estimated Wage Bill 23/24

Interesting reading. If you were an owner looking at this wage bill the expectation would be play offs as a minimum. You would also be asking why Sunderland, Coventry and Hull on a whopping 50% less are doing so well!

In reality the running of the club has been shocking with 30 million spent on Grady and Grant ( probably worth 10m between them ) and expensive contracts on the likes of Reach and players who are consistently injured who play half a season.

That’s why I don’t get Man U fans or their manager blaming the owners when players like Antony, their new keeper and Mason Mount are average and they cost many many millions.

We need to be more like Sunderland and invest in young hungry players. Knowing us we will lose Fellows and Mowatt which would be shocking if this happened’

    1. Leicester City – £60,190,000

Interesting-and disturbing!-reading indeed and proof of some truly woeful recruitment deals. That said, with so many contracts up at the end of this season this should help finances a bit.Just hope we manage to lose the ones we don't want and retain the ones we do (like Fellows) when the dust settles.

Regardless of any chances of promotion we might have through the play offs, so much of our future now depends on whether we can get a decent owner in time. Just hope this also co-incides with a much improved recruitment / scouting team than we have experienced in the past! I'm sure Corberan (if here ) will have his say though.

Those figures make sense when you notice that out of the top five wage bills 4 of them are in the top 5 in the league table.
We have made some bad decisions though, but then I’d imagine every team has. You will always have teams who over perform and under perform thrown into the mix. Like you though I love a cut price bargain, and would love to see more Vardy type stories for us. Asante was a steal and I think he will pay off for us big time as he develops. More of the same please!

Absolutely. These ‘woeful recruitment deals’ threaten to be cataclysmic. Hopefully there will be some light at the end of the tunnel with a change of ownership AND better corporate management.
