    We Can Do Better

Disappointed with quite a few things last night.

Burton was badly missed with the ball not sticking up front at all. Hayes has undoubted quality but getting stuck in isn't one of them and he looked really lightweight when balls were played up to him. I don't think their centre back even noticed he was there challenging him most of the time. There's no point looking for him at throw-ins down the line either. It's handing possession back to the opposition.

Fleetwood got right in our faces just like Wimbledon did and again we started to panic on the ball.

The distribution from the back four was appalling even when under little or no pressure.

Russ said he wanted to exploit the room on the flanks but McSheffrey played narrow and then didn't get out wide fast enough when we gained possession.

The good thing is we didn't lose despite our failings against a very good team. Keeping hold of Slocombe in the summer may be a challenge.

with one player out of our first team we should be able to cover,or change tactics.
i understand hartlepool are a man down in the centre of defence.
