    Fabian Schär - new contract

Born 20 December 1991, so recently turned 30. How long would you offer him - I’d say either one year with an option for another year or two straight years. I think either option could suit both parties.

    He's not a manager.

    They'll offer him 2-3 years.

He’s a quality player who is starting to show his class again now that he is being managed and coached properly. I hope he’s looking to end his top class career at Newcastle and so if he wants 3, I’d give it to him.

Probably is good enough for three years based on his renaissance in form but I think the club will move to upgrades throughout the wider squad quite quickly if the players we bid for in January are anything to go by. Two years with a third year option might be pragmatic.

Sir Steve of House Bruce’s treatment of Lejuene pîssed me off as well. I reckon he would’ve flourished under Eddie as well and also looked like the player he was under Rafa again. I’m sure he went for a free transfer or just about as good as when he left last summer

He's alweays been class, just lost his way a little under brucie.

he should easily manage 2 years, and even if they bring in better over time he'll still make a great squad player

It’s good that we are all debating and have slightly differing opinions on something essentially positive on here after 14 years of generally talking about one misery after another.
