    Wishful thinking...

The Chinese football revolution could be a blessing in disguise. So many investors from the country are buying into the premier league and a handful of clubs have been taken over by the asians.

Just maybe this could be Ashley's departure. If only in some way he could just take a hit and sell the club that is; which is unlikely. But looking at a chain of events over the summer window, some fool by the name of Barnes comes into play to make the club attractive for a buyer.

Barnes is directed to trim the wage bill to make the club look like an attractive investment and falsely Mia guides Rafa into thinking he needs to sell to buy. But really, they just want the books to look glossy and attractive for an investor. Yes it's wishful thinking but it could also be a smoke screen as every other window giving such excuses not to be able to invest further. It could be that their just playing on our minds keeping us content that ownership may change and that is why they have not invested in the squad.

But just maybe, and again just wishful thinking, just maybe this could be Ashley on his way out. He never goes public but this time, he goes on sky and clearly states the club is up for sale. I think he wants out but the only sad part is that the greedy fat pig does not want to take a hit on his investment and rather gamble the clubs future. Surely he should know, things can get a lot worse for him should the club get relegated.. look at Blackburn...if that happens to Newcastle, how much more value would he lose.

Ashley, just cut your losses and sell up!

Just to bump an old thread.

Apparently (according to press ) a Chinese consortium has signed a non-disclosure agreement with Ashley.

It's a move on from an "expression of interest"

So might be something in this Chinese interest etc.

Recent reports from China suggest the Communist government is worried about too much money being invested abroad and could put a block on spending on foreign football clubs. Its a case of beware who you sell to.

Get ready to lose the club you love. Once these Chinese investors jump in, watch what happens.
If people think Ashley was the devil, wait till you see what these people do, then you might wonder if Ashley was only the devils puppy.

Nothing good will come of investors like these, I'm fairly confident of that.
The shirt sponsor was most probably the biggest hint as to what was about to happen.

Get ready to see the sign before you get into the ground.

Agree - it used to be "Beware Greeks bearing gifts" but these chineses are totally without scruples. Just look at what there are doing in the African continent, stripping it bear of all minerals and resources and offering baubles in there place. I cannot see what, if any, medium to long term benefit there would be for the club or fans. Our little black and white footy programme will be replaced with the little red book of football!!

I'm not saying it's a good thing, merely reporting it.

Depends though, if he only sells them a percentage so we get a influx of cash and they get advertising - assuming he shares the SD bit it might be ok.

Fully agree with sometimes the devil you know statement though.
