Kevin Phillips - Can we find another?

Just a reminder of how good this bloke was.

A quality striker who made it look so easy.

He was the total all rounder when it came to being a striker. Left foot, right foot, good in the air, technical ability, worked hard. VERY hard to find these days even in the Prem!

That goal against was it QPR? the red and black hoops? Just stood calmly in the box and lobbed the keeper. My favourite. Thats the one I remember of him most.

The one I remember wasn't his best but it was typical particularly the easy bit..

2008 and 1-0 down at The Valley and playing badly. We had a free kick out wide left and crossed the ball into a crowded penalty area. Ball broke to Phillips and whereas most would have swung a boot at it as with all great strikers time seemed to stand still (and so did the defenders) whilst he calmly found the only gap and stuck it in the top corner. 7.1/2 mins on the video.

Great watching all those goals again and did answer a recurring question for me.

'Who did put the ball in The Dingles Net?'

WBA 5 v 1 QPR. John Gregory was in charge for them, think it may have been his last game as boss. Goal scorers for us Phillips x 2, Miller, Koren and Greening. Video courtesy of HolmleighChris.....

The dipping volley at home to S****horpe for me but just behind his first goal at Wolves in the play offs.

Beautiful lay off by Gary Breen.......the touch of an angel!
