    Wassall

While we are in WCQ week with not much going on......

Last league game 14/15. Already qualified for playoffs. Wassall plays GT and, right at the end of the game, a vicious and totally unnecessary attack (it was not a tackle) on GT saw him get a double break to his leg. He is almost ready for a 1st XI start some 18 minths later.

With GT we would feasibly have won the POs and be in the PL. Was Wassall right or wrong to "risk" GT in that game.

There are two schools of thought.

    1. He was stupid to "risk" GT in a nothing game.

    2. Always pick your strongest XI / Never change a winning team (4 wins followed by 2 draws in the previous 6 games)

    Hindsight is always 20/20/

I would have picked GT as you can't choose your team based on the possibility that one of the opposition will do something that horrendous at the end of the game.

Also, I am pretty certain that GT would have been dischuffed if left out.

I look forward to your views.

MadAmster Yes that was a cowards tackle by Jonathon Douglas who has history of bad tackles Brentford winger Alan Judge has been. out for over a year with an injury cause by Douglas With hindsight Wassall was probably wrong to play GT but I'm sure he would have wanted to play

Problem is with GT always trying to give him game time because he is always recovering from an injury

Damned if he did, damned if he didn’t. If it had been a recurrence/breakdown injury then Wassall might have been responsible but in the circumstances...just another one of those pieces of bad luck that seem to endlessly afflict us.
