    James Tarkowski

The and most professional player we have is James Tarkowski his effort and workrate is outstanding, and given he wants away makes his efforts more appreciated. I know this wont happen but he's contract is the one contract we should be pulling all the strings to try to get him to sign. For me he is the best english centre half in the country bar none. I understand he wants to play at a better level/standard but pay him what would convince him to stay he is worth it.

I've always admired Tarka, but I can't see him staying to play in the Chumpionship next season.

Great centre half but his long distance passing is woeful at times.I think Collins will be better given time.

We shouldn’t under estimate what this Lad has done here, this is his last chance in a short limited career to progress by leaving.

For me personally Lancaster your exactly right his professionalism is beyond the call
Of duty , yes he’s made the odd mistake ( who doesn’t ) I feel it’s more scrutinised this season because elsewhere on the pitch we can’t get it right at all, I think his international ambitions are also driving him to leave the Burnley dressing room and also imo his long standing partner in crime is deteriorating at a fast pace ( Mee is still a good centre back and will be for us next year in the championship ) I think maybe Tarky looks at him and thinks - I don’t have long enough left I need to play at the highest level I can and quickly.

I’ll pat you on the back Tarky wish you well and thankyou for your service to Burnley, I hope to god the idiots don’t boo you if we manage to cross paths in the future.

A lot of Burnley’s success for several years was built around Tarky Mee / Heaton / pope.

I also hope above you hope you get the England recognition that’s deserved that was starved from you by beak face Southgate for simply being guilty of playing at Burnley ,

Mings , Cody , Keane , Dyer , Square head in front of you - I don’t think so , that really is a tragedy.

I agree with everyone’s comments. He is both Premier League and international quality. He deserves to play at the highest level.

It is unfortunate for the finances of the club that he is leaving on a free.

It's not "unfortunate" S_c, it's bloody awful management of a major asset.

True, BT. English understatement at its best!

I think he is good, I would not say not top 4 good. I do think Mee makes him look good, Mee may not be as good as Tarks in many areas but playing next to the captain who is super demanding Tarks gets constant instruction, I see a huge difference with Mee there, last 2/3 games our back 4 has looked vulnerable. Wouldn't surprise me if he is off to Newcastle in the summer, with Pope and McNeal?

Some partnerships are like that, Ings and Vokes springs to mind.
