    Chris Wood - what a f!"#ing deal!

Okay, the way I understand it:

We paid £25mil for him in January '22 (which was necessary, but the price was obviously over the top).

Then, we loaned him to Forest for a £4mil loan fee - with the inserted contract clause that if he plays 3 games (!!!) at Forest, the deal will be made permanent in the summer.

Just recently he played his third game, meaning the deal indeed will become permanent.

    The permanent transfer fee? £15mil.

I'm not sure if the £4mil loan fee is included in the £15mil or not, but either we recuperate £15mil or £19mil for the player, meaning he essentially cost us £10mil or £6mil.

Now, that is what I call solid financial craftmanship - and a bloody good deal for us, considering the important impact he did have in keeping us up last season.

    My, my, my.

I think the Chronic rexkoned the £15 mil was on top of thhe £4 mil loan fee.

Fantastic business but what on earth were Forest thinking allowing a 3-game trigger to make the loan become a must-buy?

Great presence on the pitch and in the drawing room… if he helps keep them up he’ll be cheap at 19M.

Good deal for us recouping most of the money when he likely wouldn’t be playing much too.

It's a brilliant deal, some credit must go to Ashworth for securing that from Forest.

Really, as said, if he keeps them up it's a win win all round.

I imagine him leaning against a large fireplace, wearing a tweed three-piece, sporting a handlebar moustache and puffing intently on a pipe, taking it out only to offer stiff upper liip-type words of encouragement.

I think he will be a decent signing for them, but paying that is pretty wild. He's 31 years old.

Equaliser against City, I'm sure they are thinking he is worth the price at the minute to.

Delighted for him. Funnily, when I watched the goal, I was thinking that it's the type of goal he was never really able to score for us.
