I think the starting 11 needs to be freshened up, midfield especially. Bruno,Tonali and Joelinton paper looks formidable, but as somebody once said football isn’t played on paper.
Cost us the game to a large extent.
Being far too sloppy for the second game in a row didn't help either and we smacked the ball into the stand too many times as well-our shooting has been shite).
But, back to the subs...I've seen it suggested that our sports scientists would know how much each player was capable of playing before they start getting into the 'likelihood of injury' zone and that Gordon had started cramping up. We need to remember, too, that Tonali is only just getting used to the pace of the Pren-and Eddie has a habit of not playing his big signings regularly from the start.
I haven't heard what Eddie has had to say about the game yet but it may be that the subs weren't just tactical.

Miggy needs some bench time, I think.
The way we've played the last two games, w'll get nowt at Brighton either unless we're a LOT sharper. We'll likely have no Botman, either.
A chance to have a look at a proper left back then, Miggy back to his frustrating best, couldn’t hit a barn door man. I hope he starts Anderson next game in place of either Tonali or Bruno, Tonali not acclimatised yet, this league is much faster than in Italy, and sometimes it shows. Can we have Gordon and Barnes from the start, and Wilson,we gotta do something different.
No player should be an automatic choice, our midfield looks leggy and sluggish, and it’s only the 3 rd game! It needs freshened up.
Is Bruno only starting and staying on the pitch because we are still in contract negotiations… because he should have been off before To Ali today.
Sick of seeing the same subs made around the same time… some point after 64 mins we see Gordon and Isak come off, and usually another… this CANNOT be the right thing to do every game regardless of what is happening or who we are playing.
Howe f**ked it up today, he gets the praise when deserved which is most of the time but he has to take it on the chin when he drops the ball.
Also the negative backwards/sideways play without any real penetration forward is getting tiring, predictable and boring… as is the constant play down the right, especially when Gordon was our best forward on the pitch today.
We need alternatives in Miggy’s position. Livramento came on for him at City but surely Gordon, Barnes, Isak or even big Joe could play there??? Maybe Livramento’s in Eddie’s plans for that??
Bruno, Burn and Almaron need a spell on the bench. Start hungrier players !!!
