Our team for Tuesday night ...

The midfield isnt big enough, strong enough or good enough for me. Also I don't think Drennan is the answer upfront sadly. More bad news for me is that from what I've read Brentford want Diagouraga back when his loan expires after the Fleetwood game. It will be interesting to see what team RB picks as is the norm for me. I'll be interested, as always, in your views

morning Lovedean. not a cloud in the sky.

i agree that our midfield has been our major problem all season. pity Dave is going back as he looks a worthwhile signing. Drennan is young but makes good runs but never receives a pass. Taylor is streets ahead of Jervis who doesn't seem to become aware of others when he has the ball.
yesterday their number 8 ran their game, every ball was coming out through him and noone from our side closed him down to stop the flow.
our wingers didn't get in any decent crosses. two of our strong defenders can't pass but earn their place by keeping clean sheets. did i see carson throw the ball out?

I don't think RB likes Racon much though.

The problem is we have 2 wide players Holmes & Barcham) who can't beat their markers or cross a ball (even from dead ball situations). Wallace is out of sorts and isn't a wide player. IF we're going to play 442 we need widemen who can cross or over lapping fullbacks who can (Shorey can't and has never had pace) , we only have alfie who can do that.
Big Dave is essential in midfield and even he's playing out of position to help us. Midfield is a priority as is possibly a new manager come May (I think the board were star struck because Barker came with Coppell). We need a man manager not a coach.

IMO, 433 would be better, at least we could play with 3 central midfielders and move Holmes up front with Jervis & Taylor or 442 diamond with Big Dave deep, 2 in the middle (Fogden & Ferry)and Wallace behind the front 2.

Thanks for your inputs (Yes it certainly has been a nice day Pfc1 for sure). I will wait patiently for Tuesday evening to see who RB picks, something else for the Truss to discuss tomorrow afternoon

This side and set up would create more in 1 game than we have in 5.
