It's just a more expensive sky box, don't bother with it

Am I missing something with sky's 'fluid viewing experience'?
Been having a look at it and the main features seem to be:
Record 4 shows while you watch a 5th - I've never really had a problem recording all my shows before with all the +1. +24 and on demand channels. Even the sky+ app tells you when there is another viewing of a show if you can't record it at that moment.
Four times more storage than sky+HD - Meh, ok but cant remember the last time I was close to 100% full.
Pause your show in one room and play in another - I can do that now with the app.![]()
Only good thing seems to be the ability to sync any recordings to a tablet or other device to watch on the go.
What is it they are actually selling here? Anyone got it? Seems like a waste of money to me. I've got rid of my movies, sports and reckon i'll just cancel the whole thing soon, so much money for what you actually get.

I phukin hate the way sky drip feed you the technology. There's nothing new here just time for an upgrade. Very poor value all in all. I think I might get rid this summer too. I also hate the way sky (and others) charge you extra to watch your own HD tv in HD! This is one of the biggest ever scams. As the technology progresses in terms of the image quality of the TV you can buy, the TV companies try to charge you again for the privilege of getting the benefits of your already expensive purchase. Thats it sky, ive decided, you can phuk off. Your not getting any more guffball cash out of me.
Yeah BT have the additional cost to view in HD to. If I didn't get BT sport free via the broadband I wouldn't be bothering with them either. Curved screens, ultra HD and 3D what a load of p*sh.
These VR headsets seem pretty interesting though.
It's called price targeting, it's basically a way for companies to work out whether you're willing to pay a bit more for a product. Same way the coffee places will charge you more to have some additional ingredient in the coffee which doesn't actually cost them anything extra to add - the price conscious will go without, but those who value the product more highly or are just willing to pay more will stump up. This is the same but with Sky boxes; a couple of bells and whistles, which as you've worked out, effectively add nothing but to sort the price-conscious thrifty types from the big spenders.
Called yesterday , came to senses at last , dropped sport, movies & multiroom , saves £43 a month , told them I didn't want anymore calls on this ,I've made my choice , if they come back & say "we will give you this for 1/2 price then my retort would be , if you can afford to offer my 1/2 price then why is that not my current monthly bill?
Got rid of Sky years ago and bought a motorised dish. Countless live games from all over the world, ppv boxing, ppv wrestling if it's your thing and all the golf, snooker, rugby, tennis etc you could ever want and all in HD.
I had a look at the press release for Sky Q, never appealed to me in the slightest. Not really anything that jumps out and makes it a must have.

Yeah a couple months back I checked the bill and it was £75 for variety and sports, can't justify spending that every month. I got the 'amazing' come back to us offers as well but not going for it this time. Must admit I like Sky Atlantic and the Sky+ feature itself but apart from that I am done with it.
SkyQ was billed as the future of TV viewing but it doesn't really add much I don't get already and I think the basic package for Q starts at £44 p/month. No thanks.
I gave Sky 30 days notice last week.
I'm on £75 a month and out of contract. For TV and Fibre Broadband that is affa expensive. I'll give them a few weeks to give me a good deal or I may head off to Virgin.
virgin are equally shoite
