Is Tony planning to sell up?

I'm looking at this from a different angle.

Thinking back to the departure of Evans (best manager for years) and the subsequent bringing in of Redfearn, Stubbs and Jackett, there never really as been loads of money available to sign those really 'big' players.

This is where I see the real reason of Jackett walking.

On to last season and the possibility was still there to rescue the season but again decent investment to retain Championship status simply did not happen but why? Stewart didn't trust Warne with a supposed large budget or the latter in that the money was never there?

All the talk of supposed million pound offers was for me just fodder to keep the fans on board. No confirmation from Millwall that 1.4 mill was ever bid for ?????

Current state of play is its cheap as chips time as we recruit two freebies and pay a low fee of £75,000 for Proctor. It's all set up to either fail again through little investment or Warne pulls off a miracle and takes us back up whilst in the black therefore making the sale of a club debt free and in the Championship a very good prospect.

    Thoughts?

Heard a few weeks ago he was looking at selling but I won't lose sleep over it, if he's does ( I can't see it unless son doesn't want to takeover when TS retires) then let's hope it's not relations to Venkys.

Iv been hearing rumours like that for a year and a half now.

I think we are filling our pot of gold up at the moment. Whether tony takes it and runs or uses it later on I don't know. But whether people can see it or not the club when tony took over was not sustainable, in fact it was a money pit, Tory budget style training ground no ground of our own (millmore was rented) and no youth academy. (That I know of)

Thing have gotten a lot better but still improvements are needed. People who think owner needs to chuck money at it are more delusional than us hopefuls.

yes we do need a few more quality players but please get real would you Brin look at before tony and look at now.

Also if you wanna place blame on lack of money blame cheapos like my next door neighbour who won't even buy a shirt at 60% off

If TS does sell up will the new owners have to pay rent to TS for the stadium?

Yes this rumour does keep bubbling away under the surface and it's probably just that, a rumour.
TS has said his ambition remains as strong as ever (really?) but he's 73 now I think and may have been considering handing the reins to his son.......and that could be the problem.
I have no hard evidence to back it up but I've always had the impression that Richard Stewart doesn't seem overly keen to take over the running of the club (maybe Steve Evans has a view on this &#128521 and, if that's the case, then presumably TS would have to sell.
I hope it doesn't come to that because there won't be a queue of suitable people wanting to buy.
TS has received a fair bit of criticism in recent times, and I'll admit I've dished some of it out, but he has been a safe pair of hands and as Millertop says, we wouldn't want our club to fall into the hands of some fly by night consortium.

It depends whether the ownership of the ground was transferred to a new owner as part of the deal

It`s already been mentioned before NYS is only part of his empire.

Recently been mentioned he`s supposed to be funding Jest & Crimes new development, another part of his empire.

Wouldn`t want someone like Chansiri to buy the club either. He would increase Season Ticket prices.

I'm a bit worried about what would happen to the stadium if the ownership passes to his son. We all remember booths heirs don't we.

    Rented out stadium
    Renamed clock
    Out of date stadium facilities
No money left for players due to stadiums rent
