Sunday, potentially the biggest game of the season so far

and no one on the site discussing it.

In fact there's been no one on here since just after 9 yesterday evening.

Has every one gone on a late holiday?

I'm looking forward to a cracker and it should be a great atmosphere as these are the fixtures that make the premier league the best.
Liverpool obviously have a very good attack and midfield but their defence has been susceptible to direct play and so, for me, Shelvey needs to start this one but, no way should Merino be sitting on the bench. Perez and Joselu up front with Mitro on for Joselu if needed.

I can't see what kind of a threat Perez brings to the team he is totally anonymous and hides behind defenders.

We need to try someone else in this position for me it would be Gayle in at No 10

I agree Perez has been awful, But, I watched Gayle for the reserves the other night and he was absolutely dreadful.

I'd like to see Gayle brought in, but I also would lime to see these fringe players busting a gut, giving their all to prove they deserve a starting place.

    Gayle hasn't earned it yet.

Gayle, could do well behind Joselu if all he had to do was shoot and score but hte number 10 role is more than that.

Problem for Gayle is that he doesn't really fit the current system we play.

Much as I've said good stuff about Hayden, I think we need Shelvey's creativity against Liverpool and Merino is more or less the first name on the teamsheet for me at the moment.

I'd actually stick with Joselu because we can't afford to have the ball coming back at us as often as it would with Gayle up top on his own. His goals to games ratio means he's due one.

Fwiw, though, I'm not at all confident about Sunday. Yes, teams can score against Liverpool...but I'm not sure we will. And their attack is ridiculous. Concede early and we'll be for it.

(get the first, though, and who knows)

There ya go...bet you're all glad I'm such a ray of sunshine on a Friday night.

    Course we are Zip

I'm not convinced for this game either. I'd take a point now.

Could well be a battering or a sneaky draw/win.

I saw your post on the reserves Mick and agree they should be trying harder

For me though Gayle goals last season deserve him a start ahead of Perez who has been dire in every game so far this season.

I would also play Shelvey ahead of Hayden who has also been booked a few times so far for stupid fouls.

Huge game but I think we can surprise them. I have a feeling they will underestimate us.

We just need Mitrovic to start instead of Joselu. I know he's not some peoples cup of tea but I know for a fact he would put away at least half of the chances Joselu had in the past 2 games.

We'll sit deep and counter attack so I'm half expecting Gayle to get a start.
