    Murphy

He's a young lad and I'm sure he will only improve under Rafa, but he's just nowhere near any kind of acceptable level right now. Being unimaginative when on the ball is one thing, but if you can't cross it, keep it with you, win it back once you lose it, make a simple pass...then you have no business being on the pitch. He had a complete blunder today.

Not writing him off at all, I only want to see him improve and I'm sure he'll get better and smarter. But pboro's suggestion that he plays behind the striker is not a solution I'd go for right now.

To be fair, I suggested that (as well?). I just thought with his pace and the eye for goal he showed last season he couldn't do a worse job than Perez has there. After today's showing, he's got a LOT more work to do on the training ground.

There's nothing wrong with suggesting that, I wasn't having a go. Simply saying that now we see why it's not a good idea.

It was a mistake to have him on the bench today - he was useless when he came on against Burnley too. Rafa should´ve pushed Perez out to the left and brought Mitro on when he took Atsu off.

Say what you like about Perez but his defensive work (for an attacker) is good and Rafa was right to bring him on in that situation.

I thought bringing perez on was the defining moment when we lost the match. couldn't get out own half / no outlet from then onwards

That is what it sounded like on BBC. Perez coming on changed the game.

I rate Murphy, i really do and i think he'll come good but he's been terrible last couple of games.

    This♤

I thought we started well with Jos and Gayle.

Lost our way a bit in the second half and any chance of three points went when Perez came on. As for Murphy, less said the better.

    Poor substitutions by Rafa.

At half time I was pretty happy. We'd created a lot of chances and played some really good stuff.

The second half was the poorest I've seen us play in a while.
