Boost for Reds in Roses clash

GEORGE MONCUR and Zeki Fryers are both in the reckoning for Barnsley’s crunch Championship six-pointer with relegation rivals Bolton Wanderers at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon.

Midfielder Moncur missed Tuesday night’s 1-0 loss at Ipswich Town after reporting ill on the morning of the match, while left-back Fryers came off with eight minutes remaining of the second-half at Portman Road.

But both are ready for the huge Roses game with Wanderers, with full-back Dani Pinillos also back in training alongside central defender Matt Mills and forward Mamadou Thiam.

The Reds’ only major injury absentee is loanee Joe Williams, who is back at parent club Everton receiving treatment.

Assistant head-coach Dimas said: “George is totally recovered and is ready for Saturday and prepared.”

On Fryers, he added: “It is just normal, with a lot of games. He had a bit of cramp, but he is ready for training today. It was intelligent (for him to come off) because if he had gone on longer, it maybe would have been worse.

“So we took him off as a precaution as we need everyone until the end of the season.”

Victory for third-from-bottom Barnsley on Saturday would see them leapfrog Bolton in the table, with the Reds also having a game in hand on the Lancastrians.

Huge game , losing would be a catastrophe , a point wouldn't be that grand either .

A huge result if we can achieve it as I'm not expecting anything from our remaining away games and Brentford at home doesn't look too promising either .

Win or bust for me .

Thats a great idea Roma, if we're losing I will indeed run onto the pitch with my dog, and that will give us a chance of replaying the match again from scratch lol.
