I know we've all got our thoughts and worries about the 'here and now', and this means this Sunday's massive crunch match at Derby. (and believe me I havent forgot about the importance of this match and its implications etc!).
But I do still always like looking back to former memories of our club, and it makes me think back to those former glory days in the late 70s, when footy hadnt been spoiled with money and Tv like it is today.
Alan Clarke had some brilliant ideas didnt he, to make the players believe in themselves and his new and fresh ideas really seemed to work wonders because we won promotion in that first season.
Taking them down the pits with the miners to show them what real hard work was like, and getting extra staff in to clean their kits and boots etc. All this was to get them to realise how lucky they were to be paid footballers, and to realise their importance to this football club.
Wow, do we really see that sort of superb detail in man-management anymore ?.
