Preston North End - v - Leeds United ***Matchday Thread***

Preston are without midfielder Daniel Johnson (Achilles) for the visit of Leeds, while Paul Gallagher is a doubt.

North End have slipped five points off the Championship play-off places after two successive losses.

Saturday's defeat at Birmingham meant Leeds dropped to third in the table, a point behind Sheffield United.

Pablo Hernandez (ankle) was injured at St Andrew's, with Kemar Roofe on standby to replace the Spaniard if he is unable to feature at Deepdale.

Roofe, Leeds' top scorer this season, returned as a substitute against Blues after almost two months out because of a knee injury.

    Match facts:

Preston have won one of their last eight league matches against Leeds (W1 D2 L5), winning 3-1 in this exact fixture last season.

Leeds are looking to complete only their fourth league double over Preston, also doing so in 1924-25, 2004-05 and 2016-17.

Preston have not lost three consecutive league matches since September 2018 (a run of four).

Leeds United have only lost consecutive league matches once this campaign, losing to Hull City in December and Nottingham Forest on New Year's Day.

The last four league goals Preston have conceded have been scored between the 30th and 36th minutes (32nd, 30th, 36th, 33rd).

Pablo Hernandez has been involved in 23 league goals for Leeds United this season (12 goals, 11 assists) and has scored four of Leeds' last five Championship goals.

0 - 2. We gonna start firing on the run in.

We're on Sky action, more Tuesday night agony. Can't see Pablo playing, surely Shacks for Harrison. But I doubt it. MOT

    C’mon Leeds.

Who realistically expected (as opposed to hoped) we would be sitting where we are at this stage of the season? We have played some great stuff, some awful stuff (QPR, Brum) but tried to play to a style and a pattern which is great to watch.

given the bulk of the squad is the same as last year with a few decent additions and we have lost our key to unlock harder defences (Siaz) it is some achievement. The clear improvement in some of the players has been great to watch.

Better still the ride is not finished so buckle up get a ring side seat and enjoy the thrills that only sport can bring.

Agree Hopeless, unfortunately we have had spells where we have looked nailed on to top the table, and spells where we look more like strugglers, so overall I'm happy with where we are this season based upon expectations in July / August, but disappointed based on expectations come the end of November...

Still not out of the automatic race yet, but more realistically looks like play off's to me now... where e will play Derby again in the final....

We just can't seem to hold down this consistency thing, it's so frustrating for us, thats what's so disappointing, we are on a high then fall flat for no apparent reason. Some teams give us a game yes, but most annoying is that we lose rather then the others winning. Last couple of games we ought to have put the message out if we are serious about promotion, no excuse. I'm looking for a good win tonight, a performance of consistency and desire and putting the ball in the back of the fncking net! Why can't we do simple?

Biggest game of the season this for me.Win it and we put pressure on the blades to get a result at Brum.
Lose it and the blades win at brum then its a real game changer..by the time we play the owls saturday tea time we could be 7 points off 2nd if the blades beat vilewall in the 3pm kick off..and we can kiss auto promotion goodbye in my opinion.

With the way we're playing and the fixtures we have I can't see anything other than the playoffs. If in 3 or 4 games time its gone ti ts up he'd need to start resting players.
