He has certainly earned this improvement to his contract, but I am a bit surprised to learn that he had been on a lower amount than others’ “first team” wages given his level of consistency and contribution to the team over the last season. It must have been a bit annoying to the lad to be giving his all and earning less than some of his teammates. At least it’s sorted now but let’s hope it has not made him think he was less valued by the club than other players. He is certainly valued by the fans.
