The most worrying thing about tonights game

is not that we threw away two points.
The most worrying thing to take from tonight's result is that no one is really surprised.
Not me, not the Pitch Fork Gang , not even Hot-Lips and his Disciples
I think we all knew it was a possibility that we could lose or draw to a team in the bottom four and get out played in the process.
Play an entire game without creating much in the way of chances.
Have one of our players gift the opposition a goal
why is it no surprise ?
because this is what has been happening since Ardley took over.

Am I way out of order here and deluded , or do I have a point ?
for Hot-Lips and his gang - Fool me once shame on you , Fool me Twice , shame on me !!!

It’s no surprise because we’re really struggling to compete away from home against pretty average sides - Halifax being just the latest. Also, we’re good for a comical goal every game at the moment.

10 points from this run of fixtures is pathetic, but I can’t see the likes of Enzio (getting slower by the game), Doyle (should not be starting games!!!) and O’Brien (zero impact) turning things around.

This could have been written at any time in the last 2 years. you could probably re send it on Saturday. A team struggling to win somehow manage it when Notts ride into town ready to respect the point against a tough , physical team who try hard ( I say struggling but they are only 4 points behind Notts)

The most worrying thing is that we've played the same way from our first friendly and conceded soft goals in almost every game.
The midfield has been unable to sustain a press in the opposition third because we're short of legs. Doyle might be able to run a half marathon but he can't do the shuttle sprints that centre mid requires. Turner is a liability, Graham should be ahead of him.
I still want Ardley to succeed and last season ending when it did was bad news as we were in great form. But that's long gone and we're currently a bottom third team conceding late goals, not creating anywhere near enough and carrying Rodriguess, Sam, Doyle, O'Brien, Turner who can't really do a full 90 mins . The first two should be able to get there and are showing promise but you can't make old players young no matter how you train them and Doyle and Turner especially are being found out.
Enzio is a shadow of last season and Lacey isn't as good either.

The most worrying thing is that it's still Groundhog Day. I didn't see any of it, but nearly every comment suggests that it was yet another insipid away performance with little attacking intent, and the almost obligatory gift goal thrown in. We can continue in this vein for longer in the name of stability, but the only stability seems to be an insipid away performance with little attacking intent, and the almost obligatory gift goal thrown in!

    I know St Kitts ,
but lets give him another season to get it right hey ! we cant keep sacking managers , even though we cant beat teams in the bottom four of the National league
stability for stability sake I think is the Ardley Lovers way ....

I want Neal Ardley to be successful but it’s concerning at the moment certainly away from home. We do not look anything like a promotion side.

I only saw one away game last season and that was Solihull. This season I’ve seen all but Aldershot thanks to streaming. It’s been the same script in every game regardless of the result. The game gets played in the middle of the park and we show little attacking threat. It’s dull, boring and frustrating to watch.

We are a lame duck in the final third away from home and are making too many mistakes in our own third. It could quite easy be stomached if we won such as Sutton and nearly against Halifax.

But yesterday had a certain inevitability about it. Surely we could all see what was coming it just it took Halifax 90+ minutes to do it.

The warning signs were there in the pre-season friendlies especially against York and this has carried through into the early part of the season.

We’ve had one half of a game where we’ve played to our full potential and that was at home against Barnet.

Are we suffering from a playoff hangover? Where is that determination to go one better this season?

This might turn out to be the worst performing period of the season come the end but one thing is for sure we’ve got to improve if we want to be up the top end challenging.

Early days obviously but Notts show no signs of being a promotion side either automatically or via the playoffs.
It's going to take a massive upturn in performances along with the early pace setters having a slump.

Subject to the neither of the above happening, we could easily be in the NL again next season.

Notts will have no parachute money.
Two (?) relegated teams will have £0.5m.
Wrexham (if they don't go up) will have their Hollywood millions.

Lots of games to play yet but it doesn't paint a particularly pretty picture.

... the most important thing right now is for the players to stick together in order to overcome this difficult situation. Ignore all the claptrap from supporters who know nothing. We will come through this successfully if we do that. We all know that we have enough talent to win this league. Determination is the key quality now.

What we need now is for Ardley and the players to sort it out. I love how it's always the fans fault according to some that we're crap
