Spooky coincidences.

Back in 1992 I bought my second home in Stourbridge and started ripping off the wallpaper.

In one of the bedrooms there was a message written by previous occupants, the children had scribbled a message and signed it, they had an unusual surname of “Spellman”.

I’d only once previously heard this surname and I mentioned it to my mum as her childhood neighbours in Harrogate had that same name.

She contacted her old school friend and neighbour and she confirmed that it was her brother ( who my mum also knew ) and his family who’d lived in my house some years earlier.

160 miles apart were these homes.

In my present house, I invited an old school girl friend around last year, when she arrived with her husband he informed my he’d owned my house with his first wife 30 years ago.

In '93 I bought my first car, a Ford Fiesta reg F169 TRL,whilst working down in Cornwall on my postgraduate year - being all keen I spotted an XR2 model F162 TRL in the local area. A few months later I moved to Wells in Somerset having secured permanent employment, not long afterwards that same XR2 was parked on the neighbours drive 3 doors away.

On a 1 day Excel training course sat at a screen next to another guy we got chatting, turns out he'd been at Uni Halls of Residence the same time as I was studying there & knew a guy I shared a house with for the next 2 years. The training room was arranged such that had he been sat anywhere else the conversation wouldn't have happened.
