    Tranmere Rovers Post Match Thoughts

Onwards and upwards as they say! 16 Millers got to run around for a couple of hours, just over 1,000 hardy souls braved the elements and the usual suspects on MM got to vent as usual over an easy 2-0, 2-1, 3-1, 3-2 win (edits added as things changed in the last quarter of an hour ). Chesterfield in the next round anyone?

    Thoughts on tonight's action?

    Goalkeeping

Absolutely atrocious display from Dawson tonight. A priority in January is a new keeper because Phillips can't be relied on either. Would love someone like Josh Vickers. We've got the worst keepers in a long time... they're as bad as Roos was and Evans was quick to recognize that at the time.He needs to do it again pronto. It's such a ***** component which can either boost a team's confidence or drain it away. Don't mess about here Mr Evans

    We won 🙂
I thought that Teihi was better. Jules is good for us at this level.
I am a fan of Humpheys and the speed of Bramhall is something else so I feel for those two. To be shut out of the team for me is shocking. Two players that could bring a good fee are being devalued.

But we won so Evans has it spot on.

    Wembley anyone?

Poor 1st half. Better 2nd half.
Dawson a liability. Trouble is Phillips isn?t much better.
If we played them both together on Saturday we still wouldn?t keep a clean sheet.

3-1 looked more convincing. A win is a ..., but the thing we should be concentrating on is evidence of improvement.

The 2 c-backs looked comfortable and Holmes looks good enough to merit more game time.

Dawson didn't do himself any favours with the two goals.

    Improvement? Winning, otherwise not really.

Positives we won and we scored another set piece goal. Tiehi played well and Green started a game.

Reality, we beat a team with ten men. We played against a l2 team who had ten men for 45 minutes, a team that have only scored 12 goals all season and sit 21st in l2. They scored TWO goals past us with 10 men. We are a very poor footballing team with a management team that make the same mistakes game after game. Against Wrexham at home when Hungbo came on and played wide left we caused them so much trouble, again he goes wide left he looked bright and sharp and was so unlucky with his effort that hit the bar. Since the Wrexham game when Evans has picked him, he has played on the right and in the middle, it makes no sense we have a decent left winger and we don't use him there.
On to a very important league game on Saturday anything but a win against a relegation rival and it has to be a nail hit into the Evans coffin. perhaps if our best players turn-up and we get the luck like we did tonight we can get the three points.

If we won ten games on the spin playing like we did tonight' I would not go.

3 points being all that matters is nonsense.

We are so dull to watch it makes me angry.

We won - but - against a lower L2 side. Past few seasons our GK dept was the envy of many good clubs in the C?ship. Now it?s sadly a laughing stock in the lower end of L1 - seen any keepers worse than ours in L1 so far this season anyone?

I was thinking same about Josh Vickers, the Millers could do with him back at the NYS.
Dawson does not give me confidence, with Philips no better.

Tranmere's 1st goal tonight was from outside the penalty area, Dawson should have
    saved it, very poor.
Missed 2nd goal, so can't comment on that.
