he hit on the right “League Two” one, without doubt (big lump up front, hold and pass), but he went one adaption too far – this season we continue to lump it to the smallest forward in living memory

At least this tactic should already be familiar to the Notts players.

What an excellent and reassuring read. I think Hardy may have got it right this time round. Winning at home to Carlisle on Tuesday would be an early Christmas present for the new man.

I have never felt anything but lucky since the day I met the girl who became my wife.

That's pretty disappointing comprehension from an English teacher. Can't you see the message there in amongst the bending over backwards to be nice about Notts? He's a fecking long ball merchant like Nolan. I just hope Ardley succeeds, because he seems a genuinely decent man but I fear he's another victim of Hardy's flip-flop thought process.

I would rather Ardley succeeds not because he's a "decent man" but because he's a bloody good manager.

We should not be bothered or care what kind of style of football Neal Ardley plays as long as it’s winning football. Beggars can’t be choosers and when you are 23rd in league two and have somehow got to get 35 points from 27 games you have to win ugly.

15 points from 19 games is 0.79 points per game. It’s got to improve to 1.3 points a game so basically one win in every three games from now until the end of the season. At the moment we are averaging one win in six!

What is my being an EX English teacher got to do with anything? You can't read a post of mine without picking holes in it. However, I think enough on here have told you that there is nothing wrong with the long ball game if you play it effectively. Perhaps Ardley has the nous to get it right and use Dennis and Stead to better effect than anyone has so far this season.
