    AFC Wimbledon Post Match Thoughts

Well we're back. Maybe not the cake walk everyone was anticipating but our first opening day away win in many a year and we're in the play offs. Will anyone ever bet against Pocket rocket's 2-1 predictions

Thoughts on today's performance and what it holds for the next 45 games?

I was expecting 1-1 so better than I expected anyway.

We need to learn not to concede just after the start of the 2nd half.

Think we need to show some patience what with the new system but also a lot of new players a first game win will do us the world of good confidence wise there will undoubtedly be bumps along the way personally think we won’t see the best of this side until about 15-20 games in purely because of the system and getting used to it thing that pleases me more than anything is we have genuine pace right through the team not just up front

Good job Pocket rocket knows what he’s talking about.
Dominated the first half and Good to see Freddie Ladapo score.

No idea what he told them at halftime because we looked a different side second half although give credit to Wimbledon, they went long ball over the top, bypassed our midfield altogether.
Relieved to see Robertson score the winner.
A lot more to do and a lot more to come from this side and new formation.
Supporters were magnificent, really good atmosphere today.

    Well done Millers..

    Brilliant first half unplayable.
We really do look good going forward pace and power.
Second half they bypassed midfield and we couldn’t adapt for the first 20 minutes.

Showed character though and got the win.
We are gonna score a lot of goals this season no doubt.
    Amazing support.

Enjoy the ride folks it’s gonna be fun.

Been to the game, Yes, we dominated the first half, but didn't create a lot of clear chances. Freddie took his goal well though, after a nice nod down to him by Smithy , I think. Expected more of the same second half , burt we fell asleep for 20 mins , with yet another goal conceded to an unmarked header from a corner. Got to get that sorted out with a new centre back sharpish. After almost conceding another sloppy goal, we picked up the pace again when Wiles came on for Barlaser (injured?). As the game went on we finished strongly and the Dons goalie denied us several times with great saves. Also a Dons defender blocked a shot from Freddie on the line, possibly with his hands (not seen by the ref though). Our persistence paid off and Robertson eventually scored the winner. Wimbledon looked fairly weak though and we should have finished them off in the first half really. Iversen looked very confident throughout. The Millers' crossing , corners and free kicks were generally awful - need to find a dead-ball specialist. Goes without saying that the ref was pretty useless, and the view from the packed away terracing was fairly awful too. Millers fans completely outsung the home fans though.
Definitely deserved the three points, so well done lads!
