Fylde are on their arse at the minute, can't buy a win to save their lives.
So we might "nick something from one of the toughest games of the season"
Fylde 0-0 Notts
Respect the point.
Anything other than a win is unthinkable. Fylde are at their lowest point of a miserable season. dropping to 23rd on Saturday after losing 5-1 and only kept off the bottom by the part-time Chorley.
Only one side has lost at Fylde since September (Dag & Red in November).
They haven't won a game since November.
3rd worst defence averaging 1.73 goals against a game.
3rd worst home record in the league (and lost all of their last 4 at home).
Nobody higher than 17th has lost on their ground. Home and Away, Fylde have only beaten one side above 16th.
They have taken 2 points from their last 7 games.
Given this is tier 5, we probably haven't visited a more hopeless team for a league fixture, ever.
If we don't turn up, we should still win comfortably.
Fylde 0 Notts 3 (three own goals)
Yep. Win on Tuesday and we go 5th. Draw or lose and we could be 10th or 11th by the time we play Barrow. I’ll go for a 2-1 win for Notts, but we need our key players up front (Wootton, Enzio) to find some form again. Fylde’s pitch is dreadful, apparently, so it’s going to be a hard slog.
Question for people who see most of our games, home and away: When was the last time we played really well and dominated a team the way Hartlepool reportedly outplayed us yesterday?
Goodness you’ve set the stage for memorable low in our history if we don’t win.
The scary thing is that on current league form in the last five games both ourselves and Flyde are not that far apart.
Notts P5, W1, D2, L2, GF4, GA5, GD-1, Pts 5
Flyde P5, W0, D2, L3, GF7, GA13, GD-6, Pts 2
We really do need to beat Flyde tomorrow especially with no league game this Saturday and Barrow away the following week.
I’m going to be ever the optimist and say we will go to Mill Farm and get that win
