This stuff reminds me of the time I worked at Nelson Fire Station, we used to call in to an Old Folks Home at the bottom of Hibson Road, the girls used to make us a brew and the cakes were good. One day one of the Asian girls who worked there looked out of the window and saw an Asian man walking up the road, and six foot behind him his wife carrying two shopping bags, 'Look at that she said, fecking Pakis'. I was a bit taken aback and my mate said, 'You can't say that, besides you're one yourself'. 'No, I'm not', she said, 'I was born in Keighley.'
Seems this rather contentious attitude to Pakistanis in Yorkshire is not restricted just to the white indigenous population.

I was watching Departure the TV series on catchup the other day.
In one scene they were looking for a fugitive roaming around a town, there was a black FBI agent talking to a Sheriff, the Sheriff said to the FBI agent "we need to catch him because the Natives are restless" he then added "I cannot say that can I" ? and she replied "No", IMO totally over the top and ridiculous.
