Swansea v Stoke Wed 10 April 20:00
Two huge home games coming up this week against fellow strugglers Stoke and already relegated Rotherham.
Due to a disastrous run of games following the derby win, we find ourselves in the precarious position of being just 5 points from the drop with 5 games left.
The last few games have shown us that this team doesn’t have the bottle for a fight and play as if they’re already on the beach.
Why this attitude is a mystery. A lot of the players are out of contract in the summer and you’d think they’d be going flat out to earn a new one.
The guys in charge are to blame, they brought 13 players in last summer with only a few of them up to standard. We lost 20 goal striker Piroe, creative wing-back Manning and midfield maestro Ntcham and replaced them with inferior players, expecting them to play to the same high standard.
A gradual erosion of the squad by the owners since relegation, selling the best players every season, was only going to end one way and the consequences of that are now staring us in the face.
Whether we can turn it around is up to the coach and players, but the fans need to see the team show the same fight and determination to win that they showed against Cardiff, nothing less will do.
