Rotheram United 1 Coventry City 3
The New York Stadium
IN a stadiumd after the city that never sleeps, Coventry City finally woke up before it was too late to secure a pulsating 3-1 win that keeps alive their against-the-odds promotion push.
Out-fought and out-thought for the first 45 minutes, they had a reprieve in languishing just 1-0 down, only the brilliance of over-worked 'keeper Joe Murphy preventing a much steeper scoreline.
And three goals in the final 20 minutes - a penalty, a potential own goal and a remarkable finish from close to the half way line - sealed an away win which had seemed most unlikely at one stage. Even a last minute (though exact minutes became confusing near the end) penalty save from the magnificent Murphy was required.
It had all started quite serenely for City in the swirling rain, Blair Adams jinking inside within four minutes and thundering a shot, with his wrong foot, past the opposition 'keeper only to be denied by an upright.
