would you want him back or would he not fit into your current squad?

Who is better Ings / Austin?

    Good question.

I think his head has been turned now with his wages and we could not compete.

Would I have him back ? I'm undecided Gaz.

    Who's better Ings/Austin ?

Austin certainly knows where the net is, Ings is not so potent this year anyway, but Ings is a creative player so for me it would be Ingsy.

On looks I would go for Ings but like you say Austin knows where the net is

But I felt we would be better off without him when he went to yours

    I was right I think

Danny Wilson kept playing him alone upfront which didn't suit Austin and he ran himself ragged

Your manager did the same in the end too

Hmmm good question.. Very hard for me to answer as not being an attender at the turf.. Can only go,off what I see on the tele or net streams.. For me Austin is the better finisher whilst Ingsy is a more skilful player who needs to start scoring a bit more and also he needs to lay the ball off to better positioned team mates than try to go for goal himself ..nothing wrong with having a go himself ,but sometimes he needs to think a bit More .

Ings looks the part with his skills and flare but Austin does the biz?

Two different players so you can't really compare who is the best.

Ings is a better all round footballer, a number 10.

Austin does what he does very well, and that is put the ball in the net.

An Ings and Austin front two would be a winner.

(I've gone off Austin though with him trying to cripple Tripper and his shushing of the Jimmy Mc)

Agree there but I wonder if Ings would accept Austin as the main scorer and assist more than score??

I saw his disrespect and was a bit shocked at his attitude

I thought he had matured but he hasn't

There's nowt to say that Austin would be the main scorer Gaz.

Austin works the channels and holds the ball up pretty well, that's where Ings comes in... a little lay off or pass into the box and Ings will sort it.

To me that would be a Austin Paynter scenario with Austin being Paynter and Ings being Austin

    Sounds about right perhaps

We had a great feeder down the left in Danny Ward at the time he was with us
