Not sure we make very much money for any playoff gate receipts but you're absolutely correct about the money teams earn the higher they finish .
After the disastrous cup defeat to Dumbarton it's very important we finish as high as possible
There has been a lot of apathy on this and other message boards recently about our beloved Queens. Whilst I agree that some of our performances have been disappointing, this was only to be expected due to the loss of our star players in the summer. Add to that the fact that I believe Fowler's 2 key summer signings were Tapping and Hilson and they have hardly kicked a ball in earnest!
The Cup exits have also been frustrating and a big loss financially to the club, but we still have so much to play for. The much coveted 4th place not only brings us some additional games, gate receipts, publicity and the possibility of promotion (however difficult the odds against us are, it is a possibility), it also brings us a great deal in prize money.
4th place would net us almost £275K, where as slipping to 5th would only be £211K, 6th £190K and 7th only £179K (I'm not going below that!!). This is a great incentive for us to finish as high up as possible and to build for next season, whiche

If Queens manage to get that 4th spot and Falkirk squeeze Hibs into third, you will have 3000 Hibees at Palmerston alone, - so I reckon the gate receipts will be pretty decent.
There will also be a very large crowd at Easter Road guaranteed as well, plus TV money, so that would go a long way to offsetting the huge disappointment of being kicked out of the Scottish Cup.
There's a lot to play for folks and with St. Mirren, Rangers and Hibs all at Palmy in the next five weeks, there's a lot to get excited about.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure the playoff gate receipts are somehow split between ALL clubs in Scotland . Pretty sure something similar happens with the TV revenue also
I think you're right about that!
Current rules state that 50% of the cash generated through gate receipts goes to the SPFL, with every club not involved in the games getting a share.
