    Robbie Thomson

Sorry to see the keeper leave Palmy by mutual consent but don't suppose a small club like Queens can really afford paying wages to three goalies and, of course, one has got to sit in the stand each week - anyway good luck in your future career.

Like you, Ftivano, I'm sorry to see Robbie go but once Lee Robinson came back to Palmerston the writing was on the wall for him. I have nothing against young Atkinson but I'd much rather have had Robbie Thomson as my back up keeper, particularly as I don't see Atkinson ever establishing himself as our first choice keeper. As you suggest, it is probably in large part down to finance and Atkinson was almost certainly the cheaper option.

Little to chose between the two young keepers but it was apparent that Robbie was very ambitious and his departure was inevitable with the return of Lee. I wish him all the best and he will be quickly snapped up as a first team goalie elsewhere.
