We'll bring in
Defenders x 2
Midfielders x 2 (plus Ferguson is a bonus ball signing)
Wide player
Striker
Just my theory.

So, as its the beginning of silly season where rumours are concerned, in your opinion what would constitute a good transfer window and pre-season this time round?
For me, the priority is building on what we have, so
Devlin being fit
McKenna being kept
A new LB with Andy C being backup
A replacement for McLean (hopefully McGeoch or similar)
Wright perhaps getting a chance to show what he is capable of
I also have a feeling that there will be changes to the attacking options for next year, hopefully ending the long ball style....
Is that based on fact, or just your natural pessimism?
Doesn't tick even one of the requirement boxes. We all accept Rooney's days are nearing the end - this next season will defo be his last season, if not the current one just ended - so we need a natural goalscorer, and that's not Watt.
Pace? No
Based on neither.
The fact you are suggesting pessimism means you agree he’d be a sh1te signing.
It’s only based on him training with us for a few months, nothing more.
He’d be Goodwillie Mk2 (minus the rape baggage).
Hope we have someone else in mind.
We do need far more mobility up front (& pace generally).
I think a striker is probably required. Rooney only works if he's getting balls fired into the box for 90 minutes, otherwise he's a bit of a waste of a shirt. The young lad Cosgrove looks like he might be a good target man who can hold the ball up and link things nicely, but I don't think he's going to carry much goal threat. And Stevie May was pretty hopeless all season - never looked like scoring much and wasn't overly effective in any other way either. I don't know enough about the young lad Bruce Anderson to know if he's up to scratch and worth some game time.
None of the three have any pace whatsoever, so I'd imagine if someone does come in it'll be a pacey striker. No idea who though.
I think I'd like to see McGinn in a more central role at times next season - I'm not sure he has the pace for playing wide any more but he has the skill, creativity, shooting and finishing to do a job through the middle or as the no.10.
Will be an interesting summer.
