The support on here for multiple convicted criminal Stephen Yaxley Lennon is really touching. He’s fighting a brave battle against the Establishment and fully deserves that support.

Yes I do. That is totally wrong by any standards and deserves the maximum punishment, but I thought I'd already said that. You just didn't want to read it. The bit I don't get is that Tommy not only pleaded guilty, but also expressed regret for his actions. As I understand it he will get a re-trial, which is quite right if the judge in the original trial didn't follow the rules. If he admitted his guilt, and said sorry for what he had done, despite my lack of legal knowledge I can't see how a different verdict can be reached at his re-trial.

I'm going to agree with our right wing friends on this one. I've always maintained that nobody should ever be criminally prosecuted/persecuted for what they say, no matter how wrong or ridiculous or racist, ***ist, xenophobic, dangerous, etc. The best way to counter them is by showing how stupid they are. I also think that government should be completely transparent in all its operations. Nothing whatsoever ought to be 'classified' or secret. I don't care if it's the blueprints for a military bunker or a case on trial.
