Just read a rumour that Luke Dowling of Forest is to be appointed as our TD. Don't know if that's true, but I'd have offered Dan a whopping deal personally.
Reportedly close to leaving the FA and moving to Brighton as Technical Director.
This doesn't make much sense to me. We're in the market for a technical director and he's midlands based. Surely we can offer similar cash at to what Brighton can. He's already proved himself to be a brilliant Technical Director here.
Anyone any wiser than me?

Looks like Luke Dowling Forest technical director will be signing for us.
Ashworth was phenomenal for us
Also for England I cannot believe he’s leaving for Brighton
We’ve paid muppets silly money to get us relegated
Ashworth is a proven entity
We really shouldn’t let him go to Brighton without at least having a go at trying to get him
I'd imagine we will have been in touch with him, but there's a few things to consider.
Brighton have a bigger budget than us courtesy of their Prem' payments. They'll be able to offer him a bigger wage and monies to play with both in terms of transfers and behind the scenes development. Conversely it's worth noting we scrapped plans to invest £250,000 on additions to our training facilities. Mark Gillett may have been attracted to work at Forest for this reason, as Forest are investing heavily in their infrastructure. Remember, Dan Ashworth will be very aware of how Mr Jenkins works.
When he left us Ashworth's career was an upward trajectory and he's a very driven man. With that in mind why on earth would he step down to the Championship to a club he knows will be 'cutting it's cloth accordingly' ? He's more than done his apprenticeship and was linked with the DoF role at Manchester United a couple of seasons back.
Brighton may not be everyone's idea of an upward move from the FA but they're in the 'big' league and we are not. The 'other' Albion represents a fresh challenge, a bigger pay packet and like it or not a higher profile than the 'real' Albion given our current status. Dan Ashworth moved on with his career and life some time ago. Likewise it's more than time for people to stop wishing for his return any time soon. All of the very best to the 'new' man Luke Downing, Dan Ashworth's former assistant.

What worry's me is it smacks of jobs for his mates again in Dowling by BD
Too true 68! Brighton splash far more cash than us - have something we don't which is called ambition - will pay decent money - are in the best league in the world whilst we entertain Bolton and Preston - have generous owners - have a highly ambitious manager with experience and would leave the donkeys on the seafront ie Robson Kanu, Barry, Myhill, Brunt, Hegazi, Bartley......
Also to compare Brighton which is a lovely place with the famous " The Lanes" to West Bromwich is like comparing Salah to Robson Kanu!
Also it bores the life out of me when people bang on about money. We spent more cash than we've ever done in our history last summer and got relegated. We had players earning over £100k per week. We bought in a manager on big money. We will never be able to compete in the premiership on money alone. Unless some big hitter comes in and buys us Man City style.
Its not money that cost us, it was decision making. We bought questionable players and a dodgy manager in.
The only way we will progress as a club is to be run correctly from the top down. And to develop our own players. We need to scour the market for younger versions of Brunt and Barry. I hope this new Director of football is fantastic at his job.
Leicester won the league with Marhrez who cost £400k and Vardy taken from Non league. Not by trying to outspend teams.
