I read it differently, he appears resigned to the fact that the two left backs we already have are better than him and he doesn't want to fight for his place but rather stay in Scotland and be a big fish in a small pond
I'm not liking what he's saying about his possible return to Derby in January from Scottish football.
It looks to me as though he wants out from the club! I could be wrong but that's
the way I'm reading it!

As far as his development is concerned.......
1. It would suit both him and Derby if he stayed there for the entire season as playing regular, senior first team football will help him develop far better than in the U23s.
2. Playing Cup Finals and big games against the 2 Glasgow clubs and, to a lesser extent Hearts will be good for him
3. FL bigged him up prior to te loan period and I think he meant it. Let the lad progress on the back of a full season ib Scotland and then have him going for a squad place next season at Derby
MA I'm not sure about Lowe he's never really got any better for me He has a couple off good games early on then lost form He's had a few injuries struggled to hold a place at Shrewsbury Look dreadful against Leeds May do him good in Scotland but I'm not convinced He has had a new contract but if we're looking for a young left back then McDonald looks a better prospect to me
Maybe he does but Max has what, a 4 year contract? Whether he stays and forces his way into the side next season or leave for pastures easier, a full season in the SPL will be good for him and will see any fee we get for him go up. Which is why I stick by my previous comment of a full SPL season being better for both him and the club........ be that at Pride Park or elsewhere.
