The recruiting of players based on past reputations and the recruitment of players who are unfit/injured in the hope they miraculously recover.
We all have our opinions on what is wrong.
I think it's worth centralising into one thread just what we all think it takes to solve the problem that is Dundee United.
My suggestion is that the single most important factor in our recruitment of players is not their technical ability but actually their mental strength.
We have, for years, been brutal in this sense.
P.s. I think we will fail in the play offs.
What do you think?
The recruiting of players based on past reputations and the recruitment of players who are unfit/injured in the hope they miraculously recover.
1. Flexibility/bravery of formation
2. Sports psychologist to create winning habit.
3. Recruitment of players whose best days are ahead of them not behind them
width, wingers, a strong spine of big hard *******s and attacking football played at pace.
.....and a sports shrink to change the loser mindset!
I do wish we’d stop playing 4-2-3-1.
It takes money in football nowadays to improve or have serious chance to improve. We have that now.
Despite last few results Neilson is still a decent manager.
I agree it’s likely we will fail again in play offs. Neilson though would get us up next season if that happens
What we all need is PATIENCE!!
We will fail in the play offs - we are not good enough.
We will also lose at least one of matches against County and if not careful might struggle to finish in top 4.
Gayfield, here we come next season.
What needs to change?
Our obsession with short-termism.
Tannadice will not be rebuilt in a day.
For some additional perspective, this is Robbie's results so far.
