O/T - The other Notts

A very good first day closing on 324/5 with Joe Clarke scoring an unbeaten 109 on debut. Need to push on a bit in the morning and score 76 in the first 14 overs to get maximum batting points.

If we do get maximum batting points that will about equal the total number we got last season.

Why didn't Notts declare on Saturday about 30 minutes before the end ?
It can't have been to let Clarke get his 100, he was left on 97.
Credit to Yorkshire but I don't get that decision.

Not a bad result on the face of it against one of the stronger teams in the division, but it does suggest that one big problem still remains. Lots of times we have had the opposition on the ropes, but have failed to provide the finish. We just don't seem to have that killer instinct, which means that potential wins often turn into draws.

Lets see what happens when Pattinson arrives.

Decent start against a solid side I don't blame Notts for this it was clearly a great batting track and if players like Root get in they stay in.

Pattinson with his extra pace will hopefully help us against weaker teams.
