I could argue the opposite Noah re economics of breaking up the Union especially post Hard Brexit however I agree that there is work to done here
Regarding polls - last 2 polls that I can see areYou Gov and Panelbase show 51% and 52% in favour of Scotland being a independent country.
I think a hard Brexit will push this up to 55-56% in favour but perhaps messers Gove , BJ and Patel etc will win back the hearts and minds of the growing number of people who have stated they will vote Yes or maybe a resurgent Labour Party willl do the same or maybe even Willie Rennie will convince us that Libdems have the answers.
Unionists can hope the above happens
Just when you thinks it’s over they pull you back in .
So many “questions “ from the unholy cabal) which seems to made up off assorted Libertarians , octogenarians and Noah ) that’s it difficult to know where to begin, so apologies if Iv missed anyone out or apportioned the query to the wrong Unionist
1/ I believe that Iv dealt with (And gave evidence) re jdfc query regarding all low and middle earning workers being taxed more
2/ I believe that I answered (and gave evidence) BCrams post about polls not showing that Yes is now on the ascendency
3 / hmac - am I a national socialist list ??I’d answer in German but by grasp of the language is not as good as yours
4/ Noah - dreary me , your couple words reply you choose to answer my comprehensively answered post is so typical of you and the reason that Iv avoided message board discourse over the years with you - pity because the times that Iv met you in real world seem a decent lad
5/ once in a generation thing (various)
Sonetimes things change so fundamentally that even if this statement was set it stone and law (which this remark wasn’t) then statements become nullified -one example out of many being “the only way to GUARANTEE for Scotland to stay in the EU is to vote NO in 2014” - you all know this though so I await another glib reply.
Point is Mr Shuntz if it wasn’t the EU it would be something else.
Can you just tell me why Scotland chose to remain in the UK at the last (and definitive) referendum?
And do you think that now it’s about 51/49 in opinion polls there’s a mandate for change, doesn’t seem to be a seismic shift?
Or will we just keep voting till the noisy minority gets their way?
I was answering questions directed at me.
The EU thing -let’s be generous and call it a barefaced lie and was a pretty major topic to lie about
It’s not about opinion polls , it’s about hearts and minds and the direction of travel.
As regards your last point to have EU membership as one of the major centrepiece campaign pledges and then barely 18 months later renegue on this promise in the eyes of the noisy minority (soon to be majority) is an absolute fundamental betrayal of promises made and a game changer
If people where honest, I’d say it’s near impossible to find a nationalist who genuinely voted NO to independence just so we stayed in the EU, it’s an argument that was discovered weeks/months after the result and people are clinging on to it, the brave heart, tartan army were voting YES, regardless of the EU
I was one John
Always a Labour man til 2017 General Election- still a trade union member and I’m to the left of the political spectrum.
EU Access particularly free movement is a huge thing for me and my family.
Not a huge Scotland supporter either - last game was Brazil 1990 - rather see The DEE win If I had the choice
Anyway we have all had our say
Nothing on here will make anyone change their mind and nor should it
Incidentally John did you accept my answer to your earlier post re taxation ?
