The 'spine' of our current squad is Benji, Edwards, Fuchs, Shankland. If too many of them go then we are in big trouble.

Yeah thats the balancing act for teams like utd letting players leave at right time and bringing in or on players to take their place always sh.. when our better players leave but will always happen.

So there are rumours of offers on the table for 2 of them, and i expect Edwards will be tempted back down south by MM.

So our new spine is Deniz, who i dont think is as bad as some think, K Smith as Connolly is crocked and Reynolds considering his future, then Butcher who i like, but accept we need better in the future, and Shankland could still move on.

Was feeling quite positive after a safe 9th finish and the semi final, but its all gone now!

To chuck in the mixer, could there be a bit of player power going on here? For instance Sir Lawrence clearly has looked unhappy with some of the set ups he's had to play within and McNulty also made reference to a lack of goal scoring opportunities under MM.

If we don't strengthen big time we are certs for bottom 6 Siegrest saved us last season is off, Reynolds should be freed, think we need a new spine of team at least with some pace on wings but won't hold my breath for it to happen.

i thought that too so appointing an academy manager to 1st team manager makes no sense to me.

I think this is a good point. If the senior players are going to be kept (Reynolds, Butcher, Shanks, Connolly, Clark, etc) then I hope they are being allowed some sort of say. For instance, if the rumour is true about Courts/Ashgar, are these players will to work with Tam?

mmm that could be something no way could we do an appt like this without some interaction with the team. Is reynolds maybe being considered as player manager or assistant?
