Shïte chipper, always was, always will be.
It called something stupid like The Rosemount Chip Company, no it's not, I just looked it up, it's the Fish & Hook

I remember it opening as The Kiwi in the sixties, it was bloody awful then and no matter how many different owners it's had it has always been bowfin.

I think he was referring to said chipper owner being a bit quick-tempered as well as being a repugnant queynte. That behavioural quirk and a colloquialism for one employed in the carpentry and joinery trade are acceptable uses of the term.

The other use of the term ‘chipper’ is to describe of the wood-chipping device I intended using today to shred the branches that fell from the local beech trees during last Friday’s gale. However, my innate altruism saw me consign them to the garden waste bin (collection day tomorrow) as there’s a new baby next door whose sleep I’d have been in danger of disturbing, and the ma’s a bit of a bruiser.

    Careful now.

Certainly a good looking lassie at one time.

Yes, the Kiwi - I remember it well in the 70’s when visiting Aberdeen.

I think it was called the Kiwi in the early 90s when I stayed in Rosemount.

    It really was bad.

There was a Kiwi on King Street right by Harrow Road. It was OK, preferable to the Continental across from Summerfield Terrace, and the Bluebird in Urquhart Road where I think they ran mock chops through a blender before pouring them over flash-fried raw chips.

Presumably the same chipp**, possibly under different ownership, but I wasn’t in that area of the City in the 90’s though.

The Bluebird is very good now.
Used to get chips from the kingfisher on King Street, which I think is now closed, on the way home from Pittodrie after an evening game. Was known to be a fat cnut and buy another bag upon walking past the Torry chipper on the walk home. It was rude not to.

Nae wonder I now have heart issues.

I see that Richard is back working in the Bluebird.
Just as well because it was going downhill.

Mr and Mrs Mo never let you down at the Torry Chipper though, first class every time.
