We’ve traveled far & wide. Molly Malone.
Following on from the ' worst atmosphere' thread, I just wanted to say how mundane it is when we sing a song that every other club in the country sings. I call these Starbuck- chants.
The current dirge ' we got super Matty Taylor....etc...Hugill in attack is a classic example of recycled dross- which every club sings, with the names of their own players used .
The best songs are those that are unique to each club, such as:
Birmingham- keep right on till the end of the road
Bristol Rovers- Goodnight Irene
Stoke- Delilah
So what songs over the years were unique to the Millers?
I was born on the railway end
Tony Towner is one in a million
Milermen
Any others?
We’ve traveled far & wide. Molly Malone.
Greasy Chip Butty
Ronnie Moore, Ronnie Moore, Ronnie Ronnie Moore...when he gets the ball (etc)
Did the Richard Wood song evolve directly from Barnsley's pi$$ take song of Ronnie Moore? (RM is a wonker etc). Was that in itself an original? If so and in a warped way, that was a Millers song
We've got our own song anyway; New York, New York. But as you say, our fans lack any imagination or gumption whatsoever and never sing it. After 11 years we've still not properly claimed it.

The GREASY CHIP BUTTY SONG - with conclusive proof that it was penned by a Miller, for the Millers.
To add insult to injury it wasn't initially stolen by Dee Dahs but by Rotherham Blades. Et tu Brute!
It's good when you hear opposition fans singing something and you've no idea what they're saying.
Norwich had a song Saturday which seemed very popular.....not a clue what they were saying.
Fireworks song
A sparkler, a sparkler zoom zoom zoom
Etc
One of the worst is On the Ball City limply sunk by Norwich on Saturday
Trying to remember the words to the one that started:
"A A A A, Alan Hill "
Which ended with the best line I have ever heard at a football match:
"C C C C. Colin Clish, deedars play like pregnant fish" 🤣
"When I was young my Father said ........"
Can't recall other clubs having a version
