Very well done to all involved with the ladies team, an achievement to be treasured.

Does anyone know how the other Barnsley Ladies team faired in their league?

The "other" Barnsley team, Barnsley Women FC, the one not linked to Oakwell narrowly missed out on promotion from the Fourth Tier-The Womens National Division One North-, finishing 4th out of the 12 clubs with 41 pts from 22 games---

    .....................................P.....W.....D .....L....Pts

    4th..Barnsley Women.......22...12....5.....5....41

Hull City were top with 48 pts with one game still to play, then came Middlesboro on 41 and Durham on 41.
Other teams in the league include Leeds and Doncaster Belles

It is semi professional where part time wages are allowed to be paid.

Just a footnote to the above--- Andy White, Whitey, (Club Media employee) did create a little confusion when he posted under his BBS name YTBFC that the non-Oakwell Barnsley Women FC only just stayed up in the Fourth Tier finishing 9th of 12.

On 29th April a BBS member "Ade" posted, "It looks like they've done better than that, set to finish 3rd or 4th"

To his credit, on the same day, Andy admitted and corrected his error posting, "My bad. No idea what I looked at. Long day".

A bet whoever chose HEX as club sponsor or the person responsible who didn't do due diligence must've had a long day too.

Perhaps the same with the FA cup balls up. Must've been another 'long day'.

Or indeed the due diligence on the Thalhammer work visa must've been down to another 'long day'

This would suggest that the admin team down at Oakwell are somewhat overworked! Exploitation of workers calls for industrial action in my opinion!!!

In all seriousness credit to Whitey for admitting his error and fair play to the blowk. If only his superiors adopted such an honest attitude, then the fans may well have more respect for them.

The football place to be tomorrow (Wednesday) night is Oakwell Stadium to show your appreciation of the success of Jess Horsley's Feminines as they parade the Champions of the North East Premiership ( Regional Tier 5) Trophy.
The game against Wakefield is anticipated to be played on the Oakwell main pitch. KO 7-30pm. Fan entry is via the West Stand. Entry is free as is parking in the South Stand Car Park. Exit from the Car Park after the game is expected to be quick and efficient as no Car Park Attendants will be present You are advised to take up your seat position one hour before kick off.

Go Go Jess and the Women of Grove Street.

Well done Jess's Feminines winning the "dead rubber" game against Wakefield in a 6-3 goal fest.

A great promotion winning season comes to an end.

There is a chance the much anticipated derby in Tier 4 of Barnsley FC (Women) the Oakwell lot-v-Barnsley Women FC, who play at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, may not take place. Just like the Men's National League North and South having some geographical outliers in them it may be necessary to move Barnsley Women FC into Division One Midlands as Sheffield Women have been relegated to make the 12 club leagues equal.

Another big, big game to finish the season. It's the League Cup Final tomorrow (Sunday) at the Norton Teeside Sports Complex, Stockton.

.....................................Barnsley FC -v- Sunderland AFC U23.......................................

Sunderland play in Tier 6 in the Durham League but have completed the 20 game season with an unbeaten record of W18 D2 L0 so it will be a tough one for Jess's Feminines.

KO 2-00pm. Free Entry. Get there early.

Go Go The Women of Grove Street !
