They had 3 full days of rest and we were at Home so no travelling involved either.

Listened on BBC. They dominated apart from the first half until we scored.

It said that before Noble's goal we were getting on top but after the goal we just sat back and Allardyce was urging us to get forward.

I'm curious to know if we tried to play football for a change.

If we did then Cole can't play as first choice. His first touch goes further than most can kick it.

Unlike last season I don't think Sullivan will put up with many more performances like this.

You can't blame Allardyce every time we lose without looking stupid.

Poor defending and a lethargic performance particularly in midfield ,plus a Southampton team on top of there game are what lost us the game today.

Allardyce just did what he did with great results against palace and his subs tried to liven up midfield and take out the poorest performer vaz te. In short the team let us down today not Allardyce.

This is what I've been referring too constantly on this board. Allardyce is not to blame every time we lose he's just turned into a scapegoat because you hate him. The whole thing is childish and pathetic IMO

It sounds like either Saints are really good or we're really bad.

While the win last week was very good, and I understand we didn't play badly against Spurs, it seems back to last season's form.

You can't concede that much posession and hope to win games. We did it so many times last season but luck was on our side. We appear so nervous at home which is supposed to be a fortress.

Early days but Song has to replace Vaz Te and Cole isn't the answer.

Newcastle 3-2 up now. A bit worrying that I'm looking at other team's results in August.

If that's the case and I've no reason to doubt you then they have to shoulder most of the blame. I want Allardyce out as much as anyone but I can't believe they're sent out to play that way. I thought Kouyate was supposed to close down

It's up to the manager to motivate the players. After the midweek reverse to the Blunts we should have been well up for this game.
It's all well and good saying it's down to the players to perform, but you can't absolve the manager of responsibility at the end of the day.
FS style of management is no longer congruent with the stated ambitions of the club. The quicker the board realise this the better, because right now we're a rudderless ship heading straight for the rocks.
