    Yep, you're right, we'd be 7th.

He’s not going to say publically we have no hope and admit automatic promotion is over. He needs to remain positive and keep going until the end to lead the troops. The reality is 7 points behind with 5 games remaining is a massive mountain to climb, which all but the most optimistic will accept its over. That ship has sailed.

We now need to have a good end to the season to secure our playoff spot and have better form going into May.

Imagine being happy to stay in the pub league for another season, more fans lost less money, another year of garbage football.

I hope Alan Hardy reads this before he starts on about attendances.

While I also agree with that if you remember back who else was in the mire along with us? Yes it was Accrington who like us had a run towards the end of the season to pull clear... they are now in touching distance of not only promotion but also the title with no budget to speak of while we are in free fall after being top 3 for most of the season... KN saying we can get all 15 points is heartening but a touch deluded considering how bad we have been playing lately... I would take the playoffs any day but just cant see it when we cant seem to beat any team in or around us

On current form in the last 5 games we are 15th with 6 points. On this basis we are on course to finish on 73 points.

All is not lost though as last season Blackpool got promoted having got 70 points and 18 wins and finished 7th. I’m not sure if 70 points will be enough this season for the playoffs so we could do with a couple of wins in our last five.

The Coventry home game is massive now.

Its disappointing we have all but lost an automatic promotion place after being in the top 3 for so long, but relying on two mid 30’s strikers was never going to last the whole season. Plus the loss of Yates and the drop in form of Grant and the injury to Bennet have all contributed.

If we don’t make the playoffs then that will add insult to injury and whilst in the grand scheme of things this season will have been good progress will be an excellent opportunity thrown away. Let’s keep positive and hope it does not come to that.

The calls for KN’s position to be reviewed are a bit wide of the mark in my opinion regardless of where we finish. He’s a young manager and will have learned a lot in his first full season as a manager. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.
Good post....all is not lost....Wembley day out for you lucky Pies?
