..what if the club has little choice but to keep him? He is looking to recoup as much of his wages as he can to end his contract, and what if JG thinks that he is still better than what United could afford to replace him with? If JG decided that he wanted to keep him, would fans back him if he returned and was decent...or has he burnt his bridges and will never get the backing of the fans again? He does seem to be the type that if the fans turn on him...then he will down tools. I think we are between a rock and a hard place. What I would give to get someone with Andy Websters standards and professionalism to lead the backline

For me, I would have no problem if he left and tore up his contract like Fletcher did, but I do have a problem with us paying him off and not being able to get a replacement in because we are skint! If he did stay, then I would probably back him through gritted teeth.

I still think that our entire backline is still suffering from Post-Traumatic Sh#tekeeper Disorder, and only clean sheets and wins will boost their confidence.

I think once the backline get used to one another they will be fine. It was obvious that Relegitti was having a dire affect throughout the whole team. When you effectively play with a clown in goal its hard. Why did we persist with him it was obvious all season he was a fake yet he was selected game after game. The fans were screaming for a goalie in January.

Goodwin - “You could argue that in central defence area we could do with one more.

“That’s something we’ll continue to look at. There’s scope to do something if I want.”

It's not an argument Jim, it's a f*cking necessity, as is some creativity, width and pace. Why do we always make things so complicated? The glaring deficiencies have been blindingly obvious to fans for far too long.
