    Cheers min.

Just listened to the whole thing over the weekend.

    I was a 10 year old boy on 20th July 1969
My entire childhood was space orientated.

Except of course when I was under the sea......Marina, Aqua Marina.

    This boy.

The ultimate hero, and the first I ever revered.

“Nobody”, to paraphrase Wiiliam McIlvanney on Jelly Roll Morton, “had a name like Yuri Gagarin”.

Off to order the book from Hive, who pay their taxes and support local booksellers. Comrade Gagarin would have approved.

Been banging through a few of sounds podcasts at work the last few days.

If you've forgotten how many absolute zoomers there are in the states, 'The Sandy Hook Deniers' will remind you.

And I've decided to tie up a few loose ends on the AbMad investigation in to the Nairn hit so listening to 'The Doorstep Murder' hoping for some new leads.

I'm a bit put out that the new detective in charge had to choose 20 officers for the new cold case task force and not one of the forum investigation branch members were approached.

The key to solving that case lays with the gun.

The Louis Theroux 'grounded' podcasts are excellent listening on BBC sounds. All done over the internet during lockdown.

Some of the better ones include Jon Ronson, Frankie Boyle and Oliver Stone.

I did give the Rylan Clark-Neal one a miss.

    More Gagarin 60th anniversary listening.
    Lined up for listening tomorrow.

‘Beyond’ by Stephen Walker, the inside story on Comrade Yuri’s fearless pioneering adventure, is the best non-fiction book I’ve read in a very long time. (Gavin Estler’s ‘How Britain Ends’ currently attracting the Vintage vari-focals is shaping up nicely too).

Whilst Sandbrook can be a bit staid in his outlook, this seres of podcasts fits well with his very readable and informative doorstep-dimension post-war British social history volumes.
