The pundits on Gillette Soccer all agree it was a foul. The problem here is that there is no mechanism for reversing a decision after the game is over. 'Referee's decision is final'. The officials have deprived Burnley of two points which may well be the difference between staying up and going down. Surely there should be a way of rectifying this, either a replay or awarding the match or points to Burnley. In purely financial terms, this may result in a loss of £100million. The officials should be held personally responsible for that loss.

The pundits here Danny higinbottm (ex Soke fb)and Ronnie Earl( ex Wimbledon) both thought it was deliberate obstruction by Ademyi??, no coming together about it.

24 hours on, I've watched it going on for 20 times now and I still cannot see how that goal was allowed to stand. How two of the top PL referees in the country got their heads together and allowed that goal is way, way beyond my comprehension. But it's nothing new, I'm saying the same thing every weekend.

I am becoming somewhat surprised or shocked with some of Kompany's substitutions, last night Odobert and Foster were the main threats to Luton, both of these were shattered towards the end of the game, rather than replace Odobert with either Zaroury or Benson Kompany chose to bring on, the waste of a wage, Tressor. Personally I would like to see Tressor sent back to his parent club in this transfer window as he does not seem to be up for the relegation fight. His wage could be better spent on some other incoming who wants to be at BFC and as is willing to give his all in the relegation fight.

I fully share your frustration here - but can we really expect to hold officials accountable for a mistake? Would we hold a striker accountable if they miss a 90th minute penalty? Would we hold a defender accountable for an own goal?
We would not - so we cannot expect the same of officials - especially given that, ultimately, a performance over a season is what counts.
Im probably blabbing, but i live next to a football field - and i regularly see young referees, still in their ****s, getting dogs abuse from bullies on the sidelines and i dont like seeing it.

Grass roots refs must all be masochists given the abuse they get from all sides yet without them football would cease to exist.

All true LNS but with technology as it is now they really shouldn’t be getting decisions like our last pantomime wrong - they’re of the hook free and absolved of all responsibility- how many jobs can you list where that’s in the description- there isn’t any in any normal job if you make mistakes your reprimanded warned and eventually got rid off.

Reality is it’s just not acceptable to do what referees and Var are doing - referees always got stuff wrong they’re human but now I’m afraid the margin for error s be tiny.

Civil Servants spring to mind, army. They screw up, frustrate and obfuscate - then get promoted, bonuses, final salary pensions and certainly don’t get fired!
