We just over achieved early on and it's made fans suspicious with our terrible run but what we have to remember is, this season started on the back of a new manager, newish squad and a very small one at that.
If we closed our eyes at the start of the season and opened them now, we are positioned just as we would expect. Expectations have just ran away with some.
While I agree with the bulk of your post Deek let's not forget Queens did top the league to begin with having the best defensive record along with one of the best goal differences as well. Yes our squad was always too small and vulnerable to injuries which has bit us in the rear end severely coinciding with Dobbie being sussed out by the opposition while experiencing a drop off in form, the change of fortunes has been dramatic since the humping at Ibrox. We are in desperate need of an inspirational figure as a manager to re-inject some of the confidence evident in the team at the beginning of the season and there is no doubt that the midfield needs seriously strengthening during the January window. Hopefully the BoD will address these issues shortly and the recent gloom and despondency will lift from Palmerston and the real Queens will turn up again and a place in the playoffs will be back on the agenda.
